Recently, I experienced a loss of inspiration in my artwork, as I had been creating the same paintings with the same concepts. I wanted to change, to branch out and try something that required more creativity, and that was simply different from all of the work I had previously done, yet I had no idea where to begin. As I browsed the internet in hopes of finding motivation, I stumbled across a new branch of art that I had never heard of before: Magical Realism.
While the term cannot be described with simple words, the best explanation I have is that it combines artistic elements and surrealism (fantasy, dreams, fiction, etc.). This style of art is shockingly unpopular, though in my opinion, the most fascinating. Here is one of my favorites.
